Plate Exchanger Maintenance

MechPro Inc. offers 24/7 emergency Plate Exchanger Maintenance for industrial application heat exchangers.  MechPro also carries an inventory of both common and hard to find gaskets for plate heat exchangers (PHE).

Plate Heat Exchangers consists of a pack of corrugated metal plates with portholes for the passage of two fluids in which heat transfer will occur. The plate pack with associated rubber gaskets is assembled between a fixed frame plate and a movable pressure plate and is compressed by tightening bolts for the plate pack. The plate gaskets seal the interplate channel and direct the two fluids into alternate channels.

The number of heat exchanger plates is determined by the flow rate, physical properties of the two fluids, pressure drop and temperature program. The plate corrugations promote fluid turbulence and support the plates against differential pressures.

The frame plate and the pressure plate are suspended from an upper carrying bar and located by a lower guiding bar, both of which are fixed to a rigid support column. Connections are typically located in the frame plate.

Risk of PHE downtime can be substantially lessened by committing to a regularly scheduled inspection and maintenance routine with MechPro Inc.
